Are you someone who enjoyed reading Melissa Harrison‘s All Among the Barley, At Hawthorne Time, or Clay?

Perhaps you’re a regular reader of her “Nature Notebook” column in The Times.

Or maybe you were particularly impressed by her eloquently presented reflections in Rain; Four Walks in English Weather, or found her selection and editing of the Elliot & Thompson quartet of seasonal essays as brilliant as I did.

It may even be that you haven’t yet actually “read” any of her writing (difficult as that would be to believe, but stranger things have happened…) but are presently enjoying the episodes to be found in her recently debuted podcast The Stubborn Light of Things.

In any case, should you find yourself as having been described in any of the above scenarios, you’ll likely be interested to know that Faber has announced that they will be publishing a new collection of her nature essays this Autumn, to be titled with the same name as her new podcast series: The Stubborn Light of Things.

You may trust in all that is good and green and holy that I will be watching for any future news of this work, and will duly share it with you all here.
