As Yale’s famous Peabody Museum is celebrating its one hundred fiftieth anniversary in 2016, it is only fitting that someone should recount the much-storied history of the institution in a book. That that someone should turn out to be the award-winning author Richard Conniff is of particular good fortune to all those of us who would be interested in reading such a history; which is why I am particularly keen to begin reading his recently published House of Lost Worlds; Dinosaurs, Dynasties, and the Story of Life on Earth.
