Peterson Owls coverAs I stood surveying the Houghton Mifflin Harcourt table at the American Birding Expo in Columbus, Ohio, it suddenly occurred to me that I owned a copy of every book on display – well, every book but one, as I then corrected myself when I noticed a copy of Scott Weidensaul‘s just released Peterson Reference Guide to Owls of North America and the Caribbean.

So upon my return from Columbus, what should be waiting for me on my desk but a copy of this very book. Looks as though I’ll be doing a bit of reading about owls in the near future – which I welcome as it has been some time since I last read a book about these remarkable birds.
