
Jesus replied, “When evening comes, you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red,’ and in the morning, ‘Today it will be stormy, for the sky is red and overcast.’ You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times.” (The Gospel of Matthew, chapter 16, verses 2-3)
An evening snapshot from Scappoose, Oregon, taken in December of 2008. No one in the area could remember a time when the sunset had appeared so brilliantly red.
Had I given it more thought, I would have used a different camera (to reduce the digital noise in such a low light situation) but this was one of those “Honey, grab the camera and come see this!” shots.
