Birds of Montana coverIn 1921, the journal Pacific Coast Avifauna published A Distributional List of the Birds of Montana with Notes on the Migration and Nesting of the Better Known Species by Aretas A. Saunders. Since that time it has remained the only comprehensive reference book to the bird species of that state – until now.

Thanks to the work of Jeffrey S. Marks, Paul Hendricks, and Daniel Casey, and the support of Montana Audubon, Birds of Montana, a new, greatly expanded comprehensive reference to all of Montana’s 433 bird species has now been published by and is available through Buteo Books.
