Holdfast; At Home in the Natural World

Kathleen Dean Moore, Distinguished Professor of Philosophy at Oregon State University and co-founder and Senior Fellow of the Spring Creek Project for Ideas, Nature, and the Written Word, originally saw her collection of nature-themed essays titled Holdfast: At Home in the Natural World published in 1999 and subsequently honored as the 2000 winner of the Sigurd Olson Nature Writing Award.

Now, thanks to Oregon State University Press‘ Northwest Reprints series which publishes classic works of both fiction and nonfiction from the past of the Pacific Northwest, a new edition of this timeless work, complete with a newly penned afterword by Professor Moore, has been published as part of the press’ 2013 list.
